The questions relate to tag parameter in the From header and branch
parameter in the Via header.

1. What is the purpose of the tag in the From header? The purpose of the
tag in the To header is quite clear but SIP bis 04 does not seem to be clear
on the purpose of tag in the From header.

2. When should a proxy or UAC add the branch parameter in the Via header?
Page 79 and 80 of SIP bis04 talks about computing the branch parameter and
it says +ACI-associate responses with the corresponding request+ACI-. In section
10.25, where it talks about identifying call legs, there is no mention of
the branch parameter. If a request is forked, the tag in the To field serves
to identify the different responses. So where is the branch parameter really
needed? How is it used? Can someone please give a clear example.
