Hello.

I have a few questions about an outbound proxy.
(These questions may concern to the subject '[Sip] use of
outbound proxies', which discussed at [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing
list...)

In section 2 "URL parameters" of rfc2543bis-04 says:

| The maddr field can be used to force requests from
| traveling users to visit a home proxy even if an
| outbound proxy is used.

Question 1:

  What's "home proxy" ?

Question 2:

In section 1.4.2 "Locating a SIP Server" says:

| If the client is configured with the address of an outbound proxy,
| the parameters of the outbound proxy, including transport protocol
| and port, become the destination used below.

This sentence seems to me that if an outbound proxy is
selected for the destination address, it's not able to
'force requests to visit a home proxy'.

Question 3:

If a client is configured with the address of an outbound
proxy server, SHOULD the client send any message to the
address instead of Request-URI? or MUST or 'as you like'?

In section 7.1 "Where to Register" says:

| Local server: If an outbound proxy is configured, the UA SHOULD
| send a REGISTER request to it.

and in section 1.4.2 "Locating a SIP Server" says:

| When a client wishes to send a request, the client either sends it to
| a locally configured SIP proxy server, the so-called outbound proxy ,
| independent of the Request-URI, or sends it to the IP address and
| port corresponding to the Request-URI.

and in section 15.4 "Caller or Callee Generate Subsequent
Requests" says:

| If the UAC is configured with the address of an outbound proxy
| server, the UAC sends the request there, independent of the Request-
| URI.

Any information, will be highly appreciated, and sorry for
my poor English skill.

Thank you.
