Hi Everyone,
         I have a query.
Does a SIP proxy server maintain a full Call FSM for the client
and server. I understand that a Transaction FSM would be maintained for
both the client and server in a proxy server, But since there is no
specific return path for responses how could a call state machine be
maintained.
I am confused as the RFC 2543 states that the proxy maintains a
server state machine as well as client state machine for generating
requests and recieving responses.

        Is the following valid---
-Proxy forwards an INVITE,REGISTER, OPTIONS etc requests and
goes into a call initiated state..
-To release the call a BYE transaction has to be successfull but
since a BYE may take a completely different route(via different set of
proxies) and because of this the Proxy FSM might never move to a Call
release state.

        Thanks,
        Shail...
