You may use the disabled media position (or slot) not only to reactivate the disabled media stream but also to "add a new media". The main reason to re-using the disabled media posion is that, the media lines are ever growing if you add a new media line and keep carrying the old disabled media lines. Hence siply re-use the position that has been disabled by setting the port number to zero. > I understand that in order to create a new media stream > it is allowed to change the port number of the m-line > which has been set to zero. Yes (if you want the new media to be received on a different port). > Then in order to modify the port of the stream, is it > also allowed to modify the port number of the m-line > currently active with an existing media stream ? > Yes. > If the latter is also allowed, the description in the > offer-answer-00 draft will be modified to allow the > modification of a port number without creating any > new media line, won't it? > No. The following para limns it clearly. You can change the port number of a stream by just changing the port number and leaving the rest untouched. No modification to this section is needed, IMO. > offer-answer-00 draft says in the section 4.3: > The port number for a stream MAY be changed.
