To all,
What is the current state-of-play for the transmission of DTMF
signalling information between SIP endpoints? Obviously, RFC2833 is
mandated but we have an application that requires DTMF signalling to be
originated from a signalling-only gateway, i.e. one that does not have
access to the media stream because the RTP stream flows between two
endpoints bypassing an intermediate gateway.
Is the INFO method widely deployed, or is there a another solution
that allows a signalling gateway to originate DTMF digits for a SIP
session without having access to the media stream?
