I have a query related to registration.
Consider the following sequence :
(1)A REGISTER message for a particular User-Agent is received by a
registration server( which is also a proxy ).This message also has a
Contact field that the registrar stores.
(2)Now I get another REGISTER message( higher Cseq )for the same
User-Agent but with a Contact field like this :
Contact: <nothing here>
OR
Contact: sip:<nothing here>
Then what is the Registrar supposed to do?
Is it supposed to simply return a 200 OK without giving any Contact
listing for the User-Agent?
Is it supposed to return a dummy 200 OK with no contacts ?
Is it supposed to flag a parser error or send any other error
response?
