Thanks Alan. Maybe Session-Timer like mechanism can help alleviate the "dangling stream" problem?
Most UAs today indicate "I am putting you on hold" by sending 0.0.0.0 in the SDP and implement neither a B2BUA or REFER - so, it is impossible to uniformly offer a MOH service. thanks, Sunil Veluvali Sylantro Systems -----Original Message----- From: Alan Johnston [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 5:49 AM To: SIP Mailing List Subject: RE: [Sip-implementors] Music-On-Hold ? Hi Sunil, I belive it is the only flow published for music on hold. However, as the document states, it is not the only way it can be done. Previous versions of the document have shown using a REFER to a Music On Hold server, in which case B can crash. In the current flow which uses B as a 3pcc, if B dies, A will just hear music until either they give up or the Music Server times out and stops streaming music.
