voice breaks when using SIP phone.

respectable researchers i have a problem
i downloaded some sip phone software,
from joy labs sjphone recently so as to try
sip calls well its working properly.
there are only two problems
1. there is a time lag between the callers
2. the voices break how can i work this out
lastly i downloaded a sip server from vovida
how do i get to use this.What is its function.
