Hi Rahul,
Sorry i wasnt probably clear enough. For the case when there are *no*
proxies involved at all(configured seprately), and the calling UA is
entered the address sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] via a softphone GUI (where we
assume joe is the computer name), how will the calling UA resolve the
callee's IP?

I know that in case we have proxies then the UAC will pass INVITE to
its local proxy (which as u mentioned is either configured or found)
and that shall resolve the example.com (using NAPTR or SRV records) to
find its SIP proxies. The message will be then sent to the proxy in
example.com where the INVITE would be sent. The proxy in example.com
can then find joe in its own domain and send the INVITE (or non-INVITE)
request to the UAS.
But what about the proxy-less case? can any body please explain that.

regards
Affan Ahmed
