RFC 3261 talks about Stateful
proxy in section 16.2 page 92. If you see the first 3 lnes of the paragraph it
says that the behaviour of a stateful SIP proxy will be modeled in terms of
client and server transactions which are described in section 17.
So if an element has to act as a stateful proxy it
has to have a 'client transaction' built into it..And a proxy will always
forward a PROVISIONAL RESPONSE upstream. So if you look at the Client
Transaction from the perspective of a SIP Proxy it MUST forward a provisional
response no matter what..and thus taking that into consideration the figure
which you refered (figure 6 pg 133) shows that arrow of 1xx to TU.. TU in case
of a SIP proxy will refer to Proxy Core..
