Dear Mr.Schulzrinne,
Why was hop-to-hop authentication chosen for SIP? Why not like HTTP/1.1? The problem here is that UAs that do not have lots of memory to cache credentials may not be able to handle multiple authorization header caching. Why must the user agent bother to authenticate with servers at every hop since he has already authenticated with his proxy? I hope I am not wrong about this. Am I?
Regards,
