Please join us during Spring VON for the start of something big! You
are invited to play an influential part in creating the next wave of
innovative, new VoIP applications and technologies. SIPfoundry, a new
open source community for SIP-based VoIP platforms is hosting a public
kick-off meeting on March 30 at 6:30 pm in the Santa Clara Hilton
Hotel's Coastal Ballroom.
SIPfoundry's projects will focus on all aspects of IP communications
based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), initially encompassing
voice (IP PBX), video, presence, instant messaging and collaboration
applications. Pingtel is providing the SIPxchange IP PBX and Instant
Xpressa soft phones into open source via the SIPfoundry online
community. Projects currently underway include:
sipXpbx - a comprehensive small/medium enterprise SIP PBX.
sipXpublisher - SIP subscribe/notify server, a modular server for
handling SIP event subscriptions
sipXregistry - SIP registry/redirect server
sipXcallLib - call processing library
sipXmediaLib - media processing library
sipXvxml - VoiceXML voice processing engine
sipXproxy - configurable proxies that perform service level
routing, forking, and AAA services
sipXphone - a SIP softphone that runs on Linux and Windows. This
project includes the Java application layer, C++
embedded web server and C++ glue code
Hosted by Dan Petrie (Pingtel), Robert Sparks (reSIProcate) and Jason
Fischl (Vovida), the meeting will explain SIPfoundry's mission,
projects and how you can get involved in the industry's newest open
source development community. Immediately following the kick-off
meeting, SIPfoundry will host the Vovida.org general meeting. The
Santa Clara Hilton is located right across the street from the Santa
Clara Convention Center. Food and drink will be provided.
