Ramy,
It would be very uncommon for a UA to send on a fixed RTP port. Normally the end points would negotiate which RTP ports as a part of the Offer / Answer model. A UA will advertise it's listening port which would normally be randomly selected from the valid RTP port range - after successful negotiation it would then send to the listening port as advertised by the other UA. This behaviour is key to how SIP and the Offer / Answer model works.

The only example I can think of a UA potentially sending on a fixed RTP port would be for a multicast server for Music on Hold etc, but this example is an exception to the norm.

        Hope this helps.

Hi,
I Would like to know, is it good to have a fixed RTP port for sending the Voip SIP rtp packets or randomly pick any open rt port.

Thanks in advance....
