Usama,
The ACK completes the INVITE dialog and should be sent for all of the responses below - section 17.1.1 of RFC 3261. The UAS in the Invite dialog will continue to resend the final response at T1 until T2 or it receives and ACK.

Regards,

Wayne Davies

Subject:        [Sip-implementors] Do all response classes (2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)        for an INVITE require an ACK?

Hi all,

I'm looking at the call flows in RFC 3665 and it shows that 200, 302, 407, 480, 486 and 487 responses to an INVITE receive an ACK. Is this true for all 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx responses to an invite? Is an ACK always sent when a UA receives a 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx for an INVITE it has sent?
