Hello:

I am now studying the SIP NAT/Firewall traversal issues, and there are
some documents mentioning this topic. If the SIP client is placed behind the
NAT router, I know the user can configure the Outbound Proxy to solve the
NAT traversal problem. However, I can't find any document describing how the
Outbound Proxy works. Could anyone tell me where can I find
the related document about Outbound Proxy.

From the user guide of some SIP phone products, I know that each outbout
request is destined to the Outbound Proxy first. Since the IP address
embedded in the SDP message is in the private space, does it mean that the
Outbound Proxy will perform the SIP ALG function before sending the request
to the SIP proxy server?

By the way, is there any public Outbound Proxy server available for test?

    Thanks.

         Todd
