When we subscribe to any user who is not yet registered the server will not
return 404. Instead it should return 200 OK for SUBSCRIBE and also sends
NOTIFY message which describes that the user is off-line.
Server will return 404 only if presentity ( to whom the subscribe is sent,
in your case other messenger) is not in the server domain.

SUBSCRIBE fails scenario

Hi all,
I'm working on a proxy/registrar more specific on the subscribe/notify
procedure using messenger 5.0. Test setup is a proxy/registrar and 2
messenger UA's which have each other in their budy list.
Problem I'm facing is that the first messenger that registers, sends out a
subscribe to the other messenger, but my proxy returns with '404 not found'
because it is not yet registered. (perfectly normal situation I guess).
When the other messenger registers, it gets state notification info from
the first one, but the first one does not re-subscribe now that the the
second UA is registerd.
rfc3265 doesn't say a lot about this scenario. Or do I have to return a 202
response on the first subscribe.
What is the proper behaviour to let this scenario work.
