It is suggested to turn off the voice RTP channel as soon as answering side detects fax answer tone.

According to the draft-ietf-sipping-realtimefax-01, the V.21 Preamble flag sequence detected on the receiving gateway was suggested to initiate the session modification for T.38 capability negotiation. For the Internet telephony gateways, the voice (RTP) channel had been established once the initial session establishment (SIP signalling) was completed. Will the T.30 facsimile control and image data following the V.21 Preamble be transmitted transparently through the original voice channel before the T.38 negotiation being completed? Should we turn off the voice channel first before completing the T.38 negotiation? Thanks. Todd _________________________________________________________________ Don't just search. Find.
