The issue may not be with the gateway, but actually with the PRI service
from your provider. Some switched support multiple methods, or not
support delivery of calling name in the message.

Many times before a switch will finally deliver the call, they do what
is called a CNAM lookup and use that information.

On Q.931 there is NO set defined way for the transmittal of CALLING
PARTY NAME when being delivered for "continued" routing in the network.

Calling Name delivery is usually an END OFFICE function, though SS7 will
support the delivery, the issue is getting it from the PRI into the SS7
message. And still, some End Offices will disregard what is in the SS7
Message and still "dip" the CNAM database.

KP,

Calling Name can be included in FROM header. For Ex :

Name"<sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:5060;user=phone>;tag=bac449-7745

( Check BNF definition of FROM header and from-spec/name-addr in 3261 )

Your media gateway can retrieve it and send it in 'display name ie' of
Q.931 set up message.

Same on the reverse path.

Calling Party Name is being
delivered to a PRI Gateway? Our SIP PRI Gateway does
not seem to pick it up. I'm not sure if it does not
know where to look for the information or the switch
does not send it.
