The UDPATE can be sent when the UAC does not known if UAS supports it. A 501 or 405 response should be the response if UPDATE is not supported. However because of interoperability nightmares with products which still do not generate or correctly generate 501/405 responses, some vendors will not send UPDATE unless they know that it is supported. > -----Original Message----- > From: ira kadin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 2004 9:33 AM > To: Scott Godin; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [Sip-implementors] RE: Session timer > > But what if we use UPDATE, not RE-INVITE ? _______________________________________________ Sip-implementors mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.cs.columbia.edu/mailman/listinfo/sip-implementors
