I understand that RFC2327 states that SDP attributes that are not
understood MUST be ignored. So in your example below -
If the UAC makes an offer with a=sendonly then a UAS (non-compliant
to 3264) would ignore this attribute. I would expect that the negotiation
would proceed but any codec selected would be considered bi-directional.
The UAC would be able to determine this by the absence of a=recvonly
in the answer. It could then reINVITE with the old method of indicating
held with the all 0 contact in SDP.

Hi John,
that's a really good question and I didn't find any answers in the RFCs.
My option is that you must stop the RTP Session if you have a conncetion.
The user wants to hold the conncection and he wouldn't understand why the
hold was not successful.
