Hi,
I am not sure of any no response code 255 that is defined.

If a UAC receives 255 response for invite it MUST send ACK.
As per sec 7.2 in 3261, 2XX is success.
so behavior when UAC receives 255 and 200 should be the same.

"In general I feel "on receipt of success 2** response with non defined last 2
digits (like 88,77...)",the UAC should send ACK."

Regarding mapping in rfc 3398:
The mapping for 200 and 255 should also be the same.

HTH,
Sreeram.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] RFC3261 - where 2xx ENUM define

Hi,

The RFC3261 does not define any ENUM for 2xx. Can anyone give me a
pointer to where it is?

I am especially interesting to know the meaning of 255.

Also another question of what should the UAC behaves if it received 255?
The RFC3261 said:

"If, after acknowledging any 2xx response to an INVITE, the UAC does

not want to continue with that dialog, then the UAC MUST terminate

the dialog by sending a BYE request as described in Section 15."

For example from an ISUP to SIP call, if the UAC wants to continue with
the dialog when it receives 255, how it should map to ISUP side?

Or is it possible? The RFC3398, section 8.2.4 only mention about 200 OK.

Thanks.
