Hi Srinath,

Timer B will be stopped the moment a provisional response is received,
i.e., when the FSM enters the "Proceeding" state. but it is not clear from
the spec.

http://lists.cs.columbia.edu/pipermail/sip-implementors/2005-November/011312.html

There is no timer here for the UA because it is not a protocol issue.
But Implementer can have own ringing timer in the proceeding state. This
timer would determine "how long do you let the phone ring if no one
answers"

Regards,
Thangarajan.

Hi All,
I have a question about the behaviour of INVITE Client transaction(ICT)
of UAC.

Q: What happens when TIMER B expires, when the INVITE Client transaction is
in "Proceeding" state?

Section 17.1.1 of Rfc 3261 does not talk about this scenario. Even the
Figure 5 does not dipict this.
Which state does ICT enter into? Should it be moved into "Terminated" state
after a "408 Timeout" event is given to TU?

Regards,
Srinath
