Matching to transactions are described in section 17 of RFC3261. But by
Application if you are referring to the layer above (eg which variant of
prepaid calling card of company X would hook up for this INVITE), then
it is out of scope of sip standard.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Mathing incoming request to a user

Hi all,

Is there any recommendation on how to match correct user application
with an incoming request? For instance, INVITE request is received by a
sip system , based on which parameters of sip message can we determine
to witch type of application it correspond? Is there any general rule
for this?

   Thanks in advanced.
   Sonja
