Hi,
Herewith I am sending ethereal captures. In total there are 4 SIP packets, two SIP REGISTER requests and two corresponding responses.

Waiting for your reply.

Regards,
Sumit

A false in 'stale' indicates the failure in username/password. Make sure your 'response' checksum includes nonce,Req-URI, SIP Method,
username and password, as per 2617.
Also make sure that your subsequent REGISTERs have CSeq incremented.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] 401 Response

Hi,

I m sending a REGISTER request to a server. In response I m getting 401 with "WWW-Authenticate" header field. The next REGISTER request that I m sending contains "Authorization" header field where I m filling the information I got from server in "WWW-Authenticate" header field and some additional required fields like cnonce , nc.

But still I m getting response as 401.

What is the possibility of getting 401 again?

From obervation , I found that "stale" field of "WWW-Authenticate" header is false in both 401 responses.
Also "To tag" of the second 401 response is same as first 401 response.

Where I m wrong?

Please help me.

Thanking you,
---Sumit
