For capacity and call setup delay reasons, the best common practice is typically to reuse the same (or maybe a few) connection. However rfc3261 currently allows the implementer to decide when to create extra connections and when to reclaim open connections. Some clarification and enhancements to rfc3261 are discussed within the following draft: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-sip-connect-reuse-06.txt > And what would it do in case of multiple responses > to the same INVITE, should it send them all > on the same TCP connection? Basically yes. First bullet rfc3261 section 18.2.2 discusses it. _______________________________________________ Sip-implementors mailing list [email protected] https://lists.cs.columbia.edu/cucslists/listinfo/sip-implementors
