Hi, I have a VoIP gateway configured 1) to register with my proxy, and 2) to have calls routed to it from my proxy.
I shut down the gateway to test what happens if the proxy can't find it. Here's what I found: If I dial from an IP phone, it sits there waiting for a timeout to expire. But, traces show the proxy received an ICMP destination unreachable response. Should the proxy pass this on to the client in the form of a 408 or 404? If I call to an IP phone I disconnected from my LAN, wait for the reg timer to expire, the calling phone will receive reorder tone.
