Hi Varun,

Gateway should be able to handle it on PSTN side by its own if it gets
183 Session Progress with SDP details. There are ways in which PSTN also
plays the early media (for example caller tune, all error messages in
PSTN like number does not exist etc are played as early media.)
Mostly all Gateways are configured / designed to handle it.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Early media issues

Hi,
How do you handle early media issues?
Lets Say call comes from a gateway to Sip side.

PSTN--->GW---->SIP

Before the sip side gets an ACK, lets say it starts
sending early media. So how should the gateway handle
this scenario because the other end of call may not be
ready to play media.

Please suggest.

Regards
varun
