I can understand that you can make a call from this X-Lite as all the addresses etc would be present in INVITE to make the call succeed. However, calling this X-Lite via server is a bit of a mystry. I can see that it would work if you call the phone with full address like x-lite <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> @10.1.1.12 <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or something like that, in which case the server would simply send the message to IP in request line. However, if you simply dial "x-lite" and send it to server the request line would be [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> . The server has to decide where to send this message. It cannot do that unless it has binding for this username.

Ethereal traces from the X-Lite UA end depicts messages being exchanged to&fro this Server. Just to confirm the same, I have verified this from the Server end traces also. But I must really say that in the 200-OK response sent by this Server it depicts 0 bindings, which obviously means no Registrations in this Server. Now this is where I'm not clear as to how is this working then? ________________________________ > Subject: RE: [Sip-implementors] Contact header missing in 200-OK sent by SIPServer > Date: Wed, 29 Aug 2007 18:07:33 +0100 > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] > > > Hi Ansuman, > > If we go by RFC the 200 OK for REGISTER should contain all the contacts > that are present for this AOR.
