Hi, I need a clarification on Section 17.1.2, RFC 3261 w.r.t UPDATE request.
In this section, it's mentioned "For unreliable transports, requests are retransmitted at an interval which starts at T1 and doubles until it hits T2. If a provisional response is received, retransmissions continue for unreliable transports, but at an interval of T2." When an UPDATE request is sent, only a 200 OK response is received as reply to the request. There is no provisional response sent for an UPDATE reqeust. I would like to know what timer value should used for retransmission of UPDATE request when a 200 OK response is not received. Should the retranismission timer be set to T1 and be doubled for every retransmission till it reaches T2 or directly start a timer value of T2? TIA, Jagan _______________________________________________ Sip-implementors mailing list [email protected] https://lists.cs.columbia.edu/cucslists/listinfo/sip-implementors
