I have a query on the behaviour of a UAS when it receives CANCEL.
We are using an UAS which says, they don't support the CANCEL
method. First of all, is it ok if the UAS doesn't support CANCEL?

Technically, all UAs must support CANCEL. But due to the possibility
of race conditions, the UA doesn't have to take any action when it
receives a CANCEL (other than respond to it with 200).

The problem is, when I send an Invite to the UAS and a CANCEL
immediately, I expect a 487 for the INVITE.

You should receive a final response to the INVITE "fairly soon". If
it's a 487, then you successfully canceled the INVITE. If it's a 2xx,
then the CANCEL arrived too late. Only the final response to the
INVITE tells what happened.
