jean-francois, you are correct in your desciption of the table.
i don't necessarily agree that other objects sipCommonStatusCodeTable need to have an explicit mention of being on a per method basis. the indexing scheme for the table serves to imply that. we do, however, mention that each object is on a per status code basis ;)... so one could argue there is a precident for explicitly mentioning the indexing scheme in object descriptions. my guess is that this table was indexed only by status code initially, and through the many revisions of the mib we added method to the indexing scheme, but never considered whether we should mention it in the object descriptions. kevin -----Original Message----- From: Jean-Francois Mule [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, June 19, 2008 10:17 AM To: Nithin N; [email protected] Cc: Kevin Lingle (klingle) Subject: RE: [Sip-implementors] SIP MIBs in RFC 4780 Hi, sipCommonStatusCodeMethod is an index for that table. The idea was that to track status code responses on a per method basis (i.e. track 200 responses to INVITE, independently from 200 from BYE, OPTIONS, etc.). You are correct though that the text in the subsequent table entry objects does not state that the number of responses in/out are on a per method basis. I think they should be. I cc: Kevin for a confirmation on this. If folks agree that this correction is needed, I will log an errata. Hope this helps. Jean-Francois.
