The Via header field indicates the transport used for the transaction

and identifies the location where the response is to be sent.

While generating the request, UAC inserts the VIA header in the Request message
to specify the location where it wants to receive the response.

Therefore it can not be multiple. There should be only one VIA header in the
initial request.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Can multiple Via header be present in initialINVITE
request ?

Hi,

Can multiple Via header be present in initial INVITE request ?

I mean to say when first time INVITE request is generated from UAC without
traversing any PROXY can contain multiple Via header ?

If yes then what is the need of having multiple Via header in initial INVITE
request?

Thanks

Sourav
