Hi,

The P-Preferred-Identity header is defined in RFC 3325. It usage is
listed as given below

Header field where proxy ACK BYE CAN INV OPT REG
      ------------ ----- ----- --- --- --- --- --- ---
      P-Preferred-Identity adr - o - o o -

SUB NOT REF INF UPD PRA
                                           --- --- --- --- --- ---
                                            o o o - - -

In my opinion, PPI is mainly used by UE when multiple AoRs are
registered by the UE for the same contact and it wants privacy and
hence uses anonymous "from" header, but it still wants to indicate to
the proxy that it would like the proxy to process the request in that
AoR context. As per this understanding, PPI does not have any
semantics in a SIP response. Is this correct?

Thanks
Pandu
