Properly speaking, the UAS does not "expect" an INVITE with credentials. The important fact is that the INVITE failed, and so no dialog has been established. Because of that, the UAC should not send an UPDATE, as UPDATE can only be sent during a dialog. In general, if a UAS receives a request that should be contained within a dialog but is not, it will respond 481 Call Does Not Exist.
