QSIG is a digital telephony protocol which is based on, and very similar to, ISDN PRI (Primary Rate Interface). QSIG is typically used to allow calls to be connected between PBXs. Like ISDN PRI, a) QSIG supports 64 kbps timeslots for up to 30 calls per E1 telephone line or 23 calls per T1 line, b) QSIG uses one 64 kbps signaling channel to send call setup and teardown messages "out of band" for the 30/23 other timeslots on a E1/T1 line. TeleSoft International offers source code for QSIG and a QSIG-to-SIP gateway.
