Hi Manju,
As per grammar defined in RFC-3261, syntax for Call-ID is as follows:

Call-ID  =  ( "Call-ID" / "i" ) HCOLON callid
callid   =  word [ "@" word ]

     word        =  1*(alphanum / "-" / "." / "!" / "%" / "*" /
                     "_" / "+" / "`" / "'" / "~" /
                     "(" / ")" / "<" / ">" /
                     ":" / "\" / DQUOTE /
                     "/" / "[" / "]" / "?" /
                     "{" / "}" )

As per above, both examples given by you are valid.

Regards,

Subject: [Sip-implementors] Doubt reagrding CALL-ID host part of SIP request

Hi,

    Plz help me to clear my doubt in UAS behaviour if it receives an INVITE
request with CALL-ID has some thing like this as shown below

         Call-Id: <random number>@10.10.21.-1               or
          Call-Id: <random number>@10.10.21.143526      or

    some invalid host part conating invalid IP addrs(malforrmed IP address)
or some garbage(not a FQDN or AOR) value.

Thanks in advance :) ..
*Thanks & Regards,*
