Hello all
For a
SIP AUTOMATIC ATTENDANT service there’s an AUDIO defect when the Calling Party
is a PLMN/PSTN user.
The MGC
invokes, via other nodes, the Service on AS.
The Service
sends an INVITE to the MRF to play an announcement and collect one digit.
After
collecting the digit the dialog to the MRF is closed with BYE-OK.
After
this, signaling for the incoming leg is suspended for 6 seconds.
During
these 6 seconds the Service sends an INVITE to create the 2’ leg according to
the
selected attendant who will reply automatically 6 seconds later (200 OK).
After that,
the new leg will be connected to the incoming leg.
The
calling user hears the new announcement .
The problem
is that, during these 6 seconds between the 1’ and 2’ announcement, the
PLMN/PSTN calling user hears a “strange noise” (this noise is considerably
reduced if the calling party itself deactivates the microphone….; A sort of
echo, maybe?)
I am wondering
if after the BYE-OK with MRF, the service should somehow inform the MGC that
the 1’ announcement
has been completed.
Six seconds of silence is
the expected behavior.
Something to make the speech path properly work during this phase.
I read
something about SDP re-negotiation and “SIP 183 Session In Progress” usage but
cannot really find what I’m looking for.
Thank
you for your kind attention !!!

Regards
Marco
