Hi Pranab

A Register request with '0' Contact bindings is equivalent to a Register
request with 'no' Contact header. Such a Register request is typically used to
fetch the current Contacts bindings for a particular AOR. See RFC 3261, Section
10.2.3

10.2.3 Fetching Bindings

A success response to any REGISTER request contains the complete list
of existing bindings, regardless of whether the request contained a
Contact header field. If no Contact header field is present in a
REGISTER request, the list of bindings is left unchanged.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] regarding user behaviour in REGISTRATION request
with contact header having no value

Hi all,

Hope you doing well.
while going through RFC 3261,in page 57(10.2 paragraph) I found

Contact: REGISTER requests MAY contain a Contact header field with
zero or more values containing address bindings.

so if we use zero value in contact header, its 100% sured that REGISTRATION was
not successful. So it will generate any error code?

Thanks in advance.

thanks and regards
pranab
