Respected Implementors,

I will try to explain my problem as clear as I can. Please ask me again
to clarify if I am not clear anywhere.

My friend has develop software PBX with all functionality of hardware
PBX system. It is a windows application running over Windows operating
system.

Now he wants me to integrate SIP server with his software PBX(windows
application). Right now I am working with Asterisk which have inbuilt
SIP functionality with it we just need to configure it. But here in case
of windows application I need to do something different.

When I googled I came across many free SIP proxies available. Some one
told me that I need to first understand TCP/IP stack implementation
first to understand SIP protocol. I am confused now.

I want to know from you that from where I need to start so I can
integrate SIP functionality with a windows application. I need to learn
Protocol Stack implementation ? Or I need to learn network programming ?
>From where I need to start ?

I know this is long process and I need to learn many things before
working on actual problem. How and from where I need to start? What
would be the correct way to start?

Please ask me again if I had not explained myself well.

Best Regards,
Ritwick
