Hi Sumit,

RFC 4168 does not mention anything regarding which IP should be used in SIP
headers.
I my opinion SIP should always be using primary IP in its headers, even though
the SCTP stack fails over to secondary path.
Still I want to confirm my understanding.

Hi,

When SIP messages are sent over SCTP multi-homed transport, there is a
possibility that because of path failure SIP message may get routed on
alternate paths rather than primary path.
In such a case which IP should the used in Route and Via header. Similarly
which IP should be added to received parameter in Via header by the next hop
node.

Thanks in advance for your help.
