Hi Gaurav Although the specifications do not support OOD NOTIFY, I have seen it being used for NAT keep alive, for getting some configuration data (via the XML body in NOTIFY).
Asterisk also supports handling OOD NOTIFY with "message-summary" event package. This allows third party telephone switches and voicemail systems to set and clear MWI lamps to SIP phones configured on Asterisk.
