It's certainly a difficult situation. OTOH, I've never heard of it happening in the real world, so it probably doesn't matter how you handle it. The real solution is that you should be logging the situation so the human who tries to discover why the call is cleared unexpectedly can determine the identity of the other-end SIP implementation and send them a bug report.
