Dears, I had an experience were i captured a traces from a network and i tried to listen to the audio related to that specific session.
The SIP signaling session is secured via IMS-AKA and with contents are encrypted in that SIP signaling Session. RTP is plain. Both control and data plane traffic is captured together in the same wireshark session. These are the questions 1. Would wireshark correlate both secured signaling and plain media and able to play the media contents, How does Wireshark coorelate these message and play the media while signaling is secured and media session information is carried in the sip signaling? If this is case where Wireshark can coorelate both Secure SIP and plain RTP and play that media contents then the service is not secured. 2. What if we only capture the media using wireshark, will it play the media contents with out having SIP session information? 3. Does any one have the experience of enabling the SRTP on VoLTE network and what is the recommendation and problems faced during implementation.
