Hi, Since I wasn't completely sure how you intended the RFC 3261 section 17.2.3 and 28.1 quotes to be applied to the question, be aware that just changing the Via branch (when resubmitting after 408) might cause 482 merged request as mentioned within RFC 3261 section 8.2.2.2.
