WHAT IS SIPit?
=============
SIPit is the bi-annual test event organized by the SIPforum to improve
interoperability in all kinds of SIP implementations. It's the event where you
test your phones, servers, clients and find areas to improve. It's also where
you build a network with other SIP developers around the world, exchange ideas,
laugh at RFCs, write RFCs or finally see the light and understand RFCs! SIPit
is a forum for both commercial and Open Source implementations of phones,
proxys, SBCs, IM, Presence, test tools, IMS implementations and ... in short,
all kinds of SIP-related software and hardware.

FRIENDLY TESTS TO IMPROVE SIP AND SIP IMPLEMENTATIONS
=====================================================
The event has a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. Companies tend to
bring both production and cutting-edge versions of thier implementations. The
point of the event is to test and improve the quality of the SIP specification.
Everyone's implementation improves as a natural side effect. While there is no
formal non-disclosure agreement, the spirit of the event is to keep the details
of testing confidential.

SIPit26 will be a general test event, lead by Robert Sparks, as well as a
chance to learn more about some hot topics in brief tutorials during the week:

- SIP & TLS/SSL - implementations, basics, and automated tests
- DNSsec and SIP - what can DNSsec bring to realtime communication?
- IPv6 and SIP - implementation experience, gateways, tests

Hopefully, we'll also get coverage of the SIPforum SIPconnect, Fax over IP and
UA config projects by participants in these working groups.
