I recently tried revision 160 (had been at about revision 16) and found
that sipp no longer works in background mode for me. It tries to do a
screen_init() and depending on the environment in which I'm invoking it,
either messes up my terminal so I have to do a reset, or fails to start
completely with this error: "Error opening terminal: unknown."
It appears that this behavior change was introduced at revision 135.
Before this, the call to screen_init() was only made when not in background
mode, which makes sense. In revision 135 the check for background mode was
removed, so the screen_init() occurs regardless.
