Subject: [Sipp-users] Retransmission for ACK and 200 OK

Hi everybody,

I'm testing following scenario(for client) using SIPp and Open IMS Core
:

                                 Messages  Retrans   Timeout
Unexpected-Msg
      INVITE ---------->         115       0                   0
         100 <----------           113       0                   0
         180 <----------           110       0                   0
         200 <----------           110       8                   0
         ACK ---------->          110       8

         BYE ---------->          110       3                   0
         200 <----------           108       0                   0

         ACK ---------->          108       0

As you can see there is 8 times retransmissions for 200 OK, which client

receives and ACK request, which client sends.
Now I can't understand fully the meaning of retransmissions for 200 OK
and
ACK. As 200 OK is just a response, so retransmission doesn't make any
sense.
And the ACK is a request, which expects no response, so why there is
retransmission for ACK?

thanks in advance
Babak
