All,

I have a GW with IP address “a.b.c.d” and I wanted to
authenticate the SIPp to the GW before making any sip calls.

I am using SIPp in a Linux box running Ubuntu with kernal
version 2.6.24-19-Generic

I compared the authorization/authentication message in the “401-Authentication
Required” with the INVITE that is being sent from SIPp. All the
parameters in the Authorization is the same in both the messages, still the
SIPp is failing to authenticate with the GW.

I took care of the installation process for the “PCAP_PLAY”
and “AUTHENTICATION” while installing the SIPp in the Linux box.

My topology is

SIPp --> GW1 --> (sip trunk) --> GW2 --> sip phone(polycom)

I have configured the username and the password in the GW
and the same has been passed in the INVITE message in SIPp.

My call flows looks like this:

SIPp                                  GW1

-----------(REGISTER)--------->

<---------(200
ok)-------------

-----------(INVITE)----------->

<--------(401)-----------------

-------------(ACK)----------->

-----(INVITE w/authentication)->

<----------(401)------------------

I have attached the logs from the GW and the SIPp xml file.

I am using the following command in SIPp ->

sudo ./sipp –s 1021 –sf xml/uac_pcap-with_reg.xml –i
<134.56.x.y> <134.56.a.b> -m 1 –r 1
Where <134.56.x.y> is the SIPp IP Address and
<134.56.a.b> is the GW IP Address.

Please help me in identifying the issue why SIPp is not able
to authenticate itself ?

Regards,
s.suresh
