Thanks, that is what I needed to know.
Currently we are using SIPr, I imagine many people have heard of it, but
there doesn't seem to be much support available for SIPr users. Not like
SIPp. I am trying to do a comparison of SIPp vs. SIPr to see which tool
we should test our products with. Anyone with an opinion between SIPp
and SIPr is invited to comment.
Thanks again Takeshi,
Doug

I hope someone from the maintenance team can better answer you.
Anyway, here's my answers from the point of view of a heavy user:
1) Is SIPp still being still being actively developed?
Yes. Last activity in the svn repo happened on 14 Jun 2011. But
activity is low. You can check it yourself here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=104305
2) Is SIPp strictly a simulator that tests code or can I use SIPp to
connect my company's actual SIP phones to run test cases against SIPp?
I am not sure what you mean. But we use SIPp to test PBXs, proxies,
gateways and terminals, by simulating both UAC and UAS.
If you do any testing with SIP, i think it is worth the effort to
learn to use SIPp because it is very simple and if you find some
limitations you can always extend the code to meet your needs (instead
of writing something else from scratch or buying some commercial tool
that I never bother to look for as SIPp offers everything I need).

takeshi
