Hi all!

I am doing some similar tests using two instances of SIPp. The first
one is working like UAC and the second one like UAS. My aim is to
discover what are the performance limits of my SIP proxy, but before
that I need to know performance limits of SIPp UAs.

I am using 1% of failed calls indicated by SIPp UAC like an indication
of the maximum rate that can be serviced by SIP components. As soon as
failed call rate is higher than 1% test is stopped and the achieved
rate is the maximum one.

While it is relatively easy to figure out this value for UDP it is
much more difficult for TCP or TLS because there are almost no failed
calls indicated on the SIPp screen although it can be easily seen that
the system is in the congestion state (lot of TCP errors and a lot of
watchdog timers tripped).

Can anyone explain why there are no failed calls in these conditions
although there are a lot ef errors and what can be used as a measure
of maximum capacity of the system for these two transport layers?

Best regards,

Tarik
